How a lesson will be taught

What to expect each week: Genesis, verse by verse, two translations, the Hebrew, then what we learned.

  • Italic is a full verse
  • Dark red is Jesus speaking
  • Blue opens the verse
  • Green is yours to look up
  • Gold is a Strong’s number

This introduction covers the basics of how the weekly lesson will be presented. All future lessons will be posted on a Monday.

A note from the first week

The first study in Genesis 1 was held until the website was finished and tested. Lesson 001 is now up.

  • We will start with Genesis — the first of five books written by Moses.
  • Genesis means the origin, or the coming into being, of something.
  • The book of Genesis was written physically by Moses as he was directed by God, so we believe it is actually God speaking.
  • The original text was Ancient Hebrew, which we believe was the very first alphabet that created actual words.
  • Jesus is also the Word of God. John 1:1–3

For studies in Genesis

  • We’ll go verse by verse.
  • The verse is presented first in the NKJV (New King James Version).
  • Then it is followed by the King James with Strong’s numbers. Strong’s numbers refer to the original Hebrew text.
  • Then the verse is broken down to show what Vince has learned by researching the original text.
  • Then we explore what we have learned.
  • Then Vince paraphrases the verse.
