Personally I have No Doubt that He does, but you will have to determine this for yourself.
As for me, with my “common sense” thinking, I made my decision based on pure logic (emotional confirmation came later). Following are my reasons for believing:
- “Intelligent Design.” I just can’t believe things like DNA, the human brain, trees, butterflies, bugs, and countless other living things evolved by some molecules bouncing around for millions or billions of years until the ended up as they are today.
- “Common sense” tells me these things had to be the result of design and creation by a supreme being (GOD). You would never believe that a watch or clock could just happen. You know it had to be designed and created. And a watch does not compare to the complexity of a simple butterfly.
- The “Laws of Nature.” Everything science discovers is exactly that, Discovery. They can create nothing on their own. They can only “Discover” and, possibly modify, what God has already created.
- “The Bible.” The Bible takes God’s existence as a Fact. It never attempts to Prove His existence. Every proven fact uses something authoritative to establish it. In our case the Bible is our authoritative source. Written long before most scientific findings and covering many “Laws of Nature” and other “Scientific Facts” throughout its pages, it has never been proven wrong. When asking Ai, “does science prove the bible wrong, I received this answer “Modern science has not definitively disproven the Bible; rather, many believe that scientific discoveries can coexist with biblical teachings.” To me, “coexist” means that science often uses the Bible to prove its theories.
- The “Universe.” The best that science can come up to explain how it came into being is “The Big Bang” theory. In our case, we simply accept God’s Word, the Bible. It tells us that God (Jesus) created the whole thing in one day. Genesis 1:1 – John 1:1-3 Complete and mature. No billion years required to explain the time that the light from stars takes to reach us. It happened instantly. Our God is ALL Powerful, ALL Knowing and Everywhere. In other words, more than the human mind can comprehend. I don’t know about you, but that is enough for me.
“They” always point to science as the ultimate authority. This is how Ai answers the question “What is science?”: “Science is a systematic way of learning about the natural world. It uses observation, evidence, and testing to build explanations and check whether they hold up”. To paraphrase, “Science is discovering and explaining the complexities of what God created.”
There it is, my path to believing. If I am wrong, I have lost nothing when I pass from this life. If you do not believe and you pass, you will have lost Everything.
