Who we are
This website is a Bible study site run by Vincent (Vince) Novak in Racine, Wisconsin. If you have questions about this policy, write to vince@hisword4us.com.
What we collect
- If you register as a member: your first and last name, a username, your email address, and a password. Passwords are stored in a scrambled form that nobody, including the site owner, can read. Registering is voluntary.
- What you post: comments, message-board posts, and prayer requests that you choose to submit.
- Login activity: the date and time of your most recent login and visit. Only the site owner can see this.
- Cookies: small files that keep you logged in and remember your name and email if you leave a comment. We do not use advertising cookies.
- Standard server records: like most websites, our hosting provider keeps routine logs that include visitors’ IP addresses and browser types.
How we use it
We use this information to run the site, to let members see who they are studying with, and to reply when you write to us. We do not sell, rent, or trade your information.
Who can see what
- Members list: only logged-in members can see it, and it shows first name and last initial.
- Prayer requests: visible only to logged-in members. Please don’t include details you aren’t comfortable sharing.
- Your email address and password are not shown to other members.
- Login activity is visible only to the site owner.
Other services
The site is hosted by Hostinger and built with WordPress and Elementor. Some pages link to other websites, such as Bible Gateway. Once you leave this site, their privacy practices apply instead of ours. We do not use advertising or tracking services. We do use a privacy-friendly analytics tool that runs on this site to count how many people visit each page. We don’t use it to identify individuals and we don’t share this data. If that changes, we will update this page.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete your account and your information. Write to vince@hisword4us.com and we will respond as soon as we can.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has registered, please contact us and we will remove the account.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no website can promise perfect security.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. Significant changes will also be announced on the home page.
